We had some professional pictures taken, (as if we don't already have enough pictures) here are some of our favorites...

Cereal...
So after getting the okay from the doctor to start solid food at her 4 month check up, we tried the whole rice cereal thing. Didn't go very well the first couple tries. The very first time, I even had the video camera out to record her first few bites of solid food. It didn't turn out as cute as it sounds... she ended up choking and spitting it out and making the most confused and disgusted facial expressions I have ever seen her make. Although it sounds funny now, no one was laughing when it actually happened. AJ even did a "finger sweep" maneuver while she was choking in hopes of getting any extra food out of her mouth.... :)
Tonight we decided to give it another try and it actually went quite well. Most of the cereal ended up on her, on me, on her bouncy seat, and some was even flung across the kitchen when she tried to grab the bowl out of my hand. I'm pretty sure she kept some down though, either way, we made some progress.

The initial shock...
Oh... so I'm supposed to swallow it?
Hmmm....
Okay, not so bad...

2 Things...
There's two things that I cannot imagine life without.
I know it's possible, because I can hear my mom saying it right now... "we never had that when you were babies," but I just don't think I could live without Ava's swing or her jungle gym.
These two things can keep her entertained and happy for time periods I didn't even know were possible. The person who invented these two things must be some sort of genius!

Giggles!
Ava has been starting to giggle and sometimes even break into a full fledged belly laugh that ends in this high pitched squeal of joy. It is hysterical. Some days we just sit and laugh at each other. She is starting to pack on the fat rolls too.... the number of creases in her little thighs seem to be increasing each day, I love it. I just wish it was as cute for adults to carry around so much extra padding... :)
She is sleeping like a champ at night... sometimes as much as 10 hours at a time! I feel so lucky and blessed to be able to get a good night sleep. Although it has been hard for me to change my night owl habits.
AJ has been traveling to St. Louis and Texas almost every week for the past 2 months. He comes home on the weekends though so that is nice. Ava definitely knows him though and just lights up when she sees him. He is the one that is able to get her to giggle the most. We were so happy to be able to celebrate AJ's first Father's Day together. Here are some of the latest pictures...
